Elevar was founded by Chris Brookfield, Maya Chorengel, Sandeep Farias and Johanna Posada, four partners who collectively have over 60 years of experience in professional venture and private equity investing, law, corporate finance and impact investing.

Elevar is recognized as a leading investor in the impact investing space – with one of the longest tenured teams in this market. Our unique professional experience is evident in the fact that the team comes from backgrounds in venture capital, private equity, corporate law, investment banking, corporate finance, retail banking, agriculture, telecommunications and economic development.

The international backgrounds and skills of the Elevar team is an important aspect of Elevar’s strategy. Of the seven current investing team members, six grew up in emerging markets. All members have extensive work experience in developing markets and several on the team have first-hand familiarity with the cultural fabric of clients of our portfolio companies through their family backgrounds and life experiences. This multicultural outlook is an essential attribute that helps Elevar understand client needs and form effective working relationships with entrepreneurial colleagues around the world.
